Board of Directors

The AEDP board of directors is comprised of stakeholders representing a range of business sectors including: financial, real estate, hospitality, marketing, information technology, and professional associations. The Board assists in guiding the organization through the creation of strategic plans, overseeing the development of an annual budget, and achieving its mission and goals.

Chris Hartman
SunTrust Bank

Chris has a diverse financial background and serves on the Alexandria City Public Schools long-range planning work group, supporting AEDP’s interest in promoting education as an important economic development issue.

Marcy Anderson
Federal Professional Solutions

Marcy founded her company in 2005 following her involvement in a variety of successful startups, and served as chairwoman of the Alexandria Small Business Development Center from 2009 to 2011.

Greg Leisch
Delta Associates

Greg founded Delta Associates in 1980, providing commercial real estate research, advisory, and publication services to a broad array of clients throughout the United States.

Jim Devlin
RJ Investments, LLC

Jim founded his consultancy practice in 2005, which assists small to medium-sized foreign technology enterprises with market entry support, strategy development, and investment advice.

David Heiden
MITRE Corp.

David is an Alexandria native with an interest in historic preservation and expertise in communications; he serves as the citizen representative on the board of directors.

Melissa Webb
Rappaport Companies

Through her work as Senior Director of Brokerage at The Rappaport Companies, a regional leader in commercial retail leasing and development, Melissa has leased more than 100,000 sf of retail space in Alexandria.

Kerry Donley
John Marshall Bank

Kerry served as mayor of the City of Alexandria from 1996 to 2003 and as vice mayor from 1994 to 1996 and 2009 to 2012. He has a long history of leadership in various community and business organizations.

Allison Cryor DiNardo
King Street Wireless

Allison has successfully launched four wireless companies based in Alexandria, is a leader in the philanthropic community, and serves on the University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors.

Mark Jinks
City of Alexandria

As deputy city manager, Mark oversees efforts related to planning, land use, transportation, code administration, historic preservation, and more. He is the city government’s appointee to the board of directors.

Dave Millard
Avison Young

Dave is a principal with Avison Young and has vast experience in real estate, landlord and corporate tenant representation, is the 2013 chairman of NAIOP Northern Virginia, and serves on local nonprofit boards.

David Speck
Speck-Caudron Investment Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC

David has a history of political and philanthropic leadership, serving on the Alexandria City Council (most recently in 2012) and in the Virginia House of Delegates as well as on many nonprofit and government boards.

Marjorie Bynum
SOCAP International

Marjorie is the Vice President, Education & Communications at SOCAP International, a professional trade association headquartered in Old Town. She also brings experience and perspectives from the workforce/ economic development and higher education industries.

Scott Shaw
Fishbowl, Inc.

Scott’s 17-year experience with three startup foodservice companies led him to found Fishbowl in 2000—now a leading provider of marketing and software for restaurants.

JOSEPH HAGGERTY
UNITED WAY WORLDWIDE

Joe spent 25 years as a local United Way CEO before assuming his current role as Chief Operating Officer at United Way Worldwide. He is the 2014 Chairman of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and serves on the AEDP during his tenure.

Bill Hard
LCOR

Bill led the LCOR team that developed the 2.5 million-square-foot U.S. Patent and Trademark Office headquarters in Carlyle.

Scott Price
Office of Sen. Mark Warner

Prior to directing constituent services for Sen. Warner, Scott was executive director of the Virginia High-Tech Partnership, linking technology companies with historically black colleges and universities.

A.J. Jackson
EYA

A.J. is a Senior Vice President at EYA. He is involved in several residential projects in Alexandria, including The Oronoco, Old Town Commons, and Robinson Terminal South.
