Beauregard

The Beauregard plan was adopted in 2012 and covers almost 287 acres. One of the catalysts for redevelopment in the Beauregard neighborhood is the U.S. Department of Defense (Base Realignment and Closure 133) project, which added 6,400 employees to Mark Center in 2012 and launched a need for a Small Area Plan. The approved plan envisions a series of new urban neighborhoods containing a mix of uses, open space, a variety of housing opportunities, and integrated transit—in a manner that will be compatible with the adjacent neighborhoods. The plan also seeks to ensure that the seven distinct neighborhoods are economically and environmentally sustainable for the city.
