The Alexandria Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a community resource that provides counseling, training, and information in all aspects of small business management. The Alexandria SBDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization hosted by AEDP and funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the City of Alexandria, and the regional banking community.
The Alexandria SBDC can help you start, manage, and grow your business. Each month, several free educational programs are offered on a variety of topics related to small business, from marketing and branding to federal contracting. Visit SBDC’s event page for more information on upcoming events.
In addition to many monthly events, the SBDC provides one-on-one counseling for small businesses based in Alexandria. Whether you are just getting started with the concept of your small business, seeking advice on obtaining a loan, or looking to grow your business, SBDC's counselors can help. The SBDC also offers several specialized 1:1 consulting sessions each month on a variety of topics, including social media, nonprofit, HR, and legal advice.
There are many other resources available to small businesses in Alexandria. Capitol Post, our new program for veterans in business, works closely with the SBDC. We also have an active network of business associations, regional, and state organizations. Please see our Business Associations & Other Resources page to learn more.
